Education is important—the foundation of learning and development.

PCL has made a financial commitment to education through the provision of numerous scholarships and internships to students in the communities where it operates. Though some of these students work in PCL offices, many others receive support across a wide variety of disciplines outside the field of construction.
  • In celebration of fifty years of successful growth with a valued partner, Oxford Properties Group, PCL endowed $50,000 toward a scholarship in the Alberta School of Business in the University of Alberta.

  • PCL is committed to the training, recruitment, and retention of tradespeople. PCL is donating $100,000 each year from 2010 to 2012 to the western Canadian technical colleges of the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology, the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology, and the British Columbia Institute of Technology.

  • In the United States, PCL has contributed to a number of universities including Washington State, Colorado, Florida, Hawaii, Minnesota, California State, Washington, Wisconsin, Stout, Purdue, Pacific, Boise, and Arizona.
In 2012, as an example, the PCL family of companies announced Calgary’s Ethan Wilson as recipient of the Canadian Buildings Student Scholarship Award. Ethan is currently in his fourth year at the University of Saskatchewan College of Engineering. He has completed two summer work terms with PCL in Calgary.
