The 2017 National Awards for
Excellence in Construction recognize innovation, value for money, and quality

innovate countless features that allow the Victorian Comprehensive Cancer
Centre to become Australia’s leading facility for cancer research and patient
Builders awards are judged by a national panel of independent building industry
experts. The award was achieved in part by the following:
- All aspects of the concrete structure were designed and installed
to meet specific shielding requirements.
- The building fabric, services, and the fitout of “accreditable”
spaces had to be validated through a stringent accreditation process to ensure
the facility was able to meet requirements for relevant licenses.
- Delivery of a A$1 billion cancer center on time and on budget.
