PCL CEO Named Business Person of the Year for 2006

Edmonton, Alberta– Alberta Venture magazine has named Ross Grieve, President and CEO of PCL Construction Group Inc., its Business Person of the Year.

Alberta Venture’s Business Person of the Year Award identifies and recognizes individuals who embrace principled leadership, strategic thinking, the unceasing pursuit of excellence and balanced workplace values. The recipient is also featured on the cover of Alberta Venture’s December issue.

“Ross Grieve exemplifies those vital qualities that keep Alberta companies vibrant, prosperous and on the leading edge,” says Ruth Kelly, Alberta Venture’s publisher and editor-in-chief.

The recognition comes as Grieve’s PCL Construction Group Inc. celebrates 100 years of business in the prairies.

“This award is a direct reflection on the incredible momentum our family of companies has as we enter our second century,” says Ross Grieve, PCL’s president and CEO.

Alberta’s Business Person of the Year was created by Alberta Venture magazine in 1997 to recognize excellence in the corporate community through a combination of principled leadership, strategic thinking, and unceasing pursuit of excellence and balanced workplace values. Candidates are nominated by their colleagues and the winner is determined by a panel of business leaders. Previous award recipients include Charlie Fischer, President and CEO of Nexen Inc. (2005), Dr. Sam Shaw, president of the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (2004); Bill Comrie, founder and chairman of The Brick Warehouse Corporation (2003); and John Forzani, CEO of Forzani Group (2002).
