The project involves constructing multiple elevated ramps that will connect I-4 and the Lee Roy Selmon Expressway in Tampa, Florida. This new toll roadway will also add designated truck ramps into and out of the Port of Tampa for improved port access. The project scope consists of 23 bridges founded on drilled shafts ranging in size from 36”- 90” in diameter. Twelve of the bridges are segmental and will utilize both span-by-span and balanced cantilever construction methods. The remaining bridges will utilize typical concrete Bulb-T girders. Other work includes rehabilitation of the existing bridges on I-4 and the Lee Roy Selmon Expressway and approach tie-ins. Construction is scheduled to commence in January 2010 with completion in March 2013. About PCL Civil Constructors, Inc. (Tampa) For media inquiries, please contact:
