PCL Named as Top Employer in Canada - PCL family of companies

EDMONTON, Alberta -- The PCL family of companies has been selected to the Top 100 Employers in Canada and Alberta’s Top 35 Employers lists. These 2008 rankings are completed by Mediacorp Canada Inc. and were published in the Saturday, October 13 editions of major Canadian newspapers.

“Making the 2008 list is a great honor for PCL,” says president and CEO, Ross Grieve. “It is a welcome confirmation of our organization’s business practices, especially as we navigate through our second century as construction leaders.”

The list of finalists was released this month in the midst of the tightest labor market in a generation and record competition among employers. Now in its eighth year, the competition recognizes employers that lead the way in attracting and retaining employees.

To develop this year’s list, Mediacorp examined the recruitment histories of over 72,000 employers across Canada. From this initial group, 10,000 were invited to apply by completing an extensive application process that included a detailed review of operations and HR practices.
