PCL Partnering in JV Roads and Bridges Project in Edmonton

EDMONTON, Alberta -- The PCL family of companies is pleased to announce the recent award of the $170-million Anthony Henday Drive Stony Plain Road (100 Avenue) Interchange to KMC/PCL, a Joint Venture. This joint venture is between Kiewit Management Co. (KMC) and PCL Construction Management Inc. (PCL). PCL’s first joint venture pursuit with Peter Kiewit and Sons was in 1948, and we are pleased to be working with them again on this, Alberta Transportation’s first pure design-build project. KMC will be the managing partner on this project.

Elements of this project include an interchange on Anthony Henday Drive at Stony Plain Road and 100 Avenue (which consists of six bridge structures); and approximately twenty kilometers (twelve miles) of road construction and reconstruction from north of 87th Avenue to Highway 16. Construction of this project will occur while maintaining extremely high traffic volumes at one of the busiest interchanges in the Edmonton Capital Region.

Construction will commence in the spring of 2009, with an anticipated completion date of October 2011.
