PCL Working on $79.6 Million Contract at the Orlando International Airport

ORLANDO, Florida -- PCL Construction Services, Inc. (Orlando) is working on the $79.6 million Orlando International Airport BP-X019, In-line Baggage Screening System, Phase C.

This project focuses on the installation of the Explosive Detection Systems (EDS) and Explosive Trace Devices (ETD) in-line within the existing Baggage Handling Systems. The existing EDS and EDT machines, as well as the uninterruptible power supply units currently located in public lobby spaces, are to be relocated in phases to secure rooms (pods) in non-public areas.  Approximately 7,000 linear feet of baggage conveyors, controls, security components and supporting equipment will accompany this relocation. Further scope includes renovations to existing Transportation Security Administration offices and modifications to nine Curbside Bag Check-In Facilities.

This is PCL Orlando’s fourth project at the Orlando International Airport for the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority.
