PCL’s Chris Gower Named One of Canada’s Top 40 Under 40 (TM)

TORONTO, Ontario -- The PCL family of companies is pleased to announce that Chris Gower, regional vice president, PCL Constructors Canada Inc. (Central & Eastern Canada), has been named one of Canada’s Top 40 Under 40 ^TM for 2009.

This annual award program honors 40 Canadians under the age of 40 in the private, public, and not-for-profit sectors. Chris and his peers were selected from more than 1,200 nominees by an independent advisory board comprising twenty-five business leaders from across Canada.

Over his fifteen-year PCL career, Chris has managed multi-million construction projects, including the $396-million Infield Development project at the Lester B. Pearson International Airport in Toronto, Ontario. Today, as regional vice president, Chris is responsible for more than $1.3 billion of work in Ontario and the Atlantic provinces.

 “Working for PCL has exposed me to challenging work in an environment that has encouraged me to do my best,” Chris says. “I share this achievement with my colleagues, as without the support and mentoring of many PCLers, I would not be in my position today, nor would I be earning this accolade.”

Despite a demanding work schedule, Chris is actively involved in the community. He supports PCL’s multi-faceted United Way fund-raising campaign in Toronto, and has loaned his efforts to other associations such as The Darling Home for Kids (formally known as the Rose Cherry Home).
