The United Way of the Alberta Capital Region has recognized Enbridge Inc. with its Award of Excellence during the 2010 United Way campaign. Enbridge joins PCL, the 2009 winner, in creating a Circle of Excellence that recognizes the exceptional commitment of employees at these two companies.

PCL’s Edmonton-based operations received the United Way’s first-ever Award of Excellence in 2009, for going above and beyond in the Alberta Capital Region. PCL was cited for contributions that have climbed steadily for four decades, culminating in 2008 when PCL became the first private sector company in the Alberta Capital Region to raise more than one million dollars for local causes supported by the United Way.

Enbridge is now the second private-sector company to raise more than $1 million locally during a United Way campaign. PCL and Enbridge together are organizations that, as stated in the print version of We, the United Way magazine of the Alberta Capital Region, “provide outstanding community support” and “are leading the charge for real change.”
The PCL family of companies is a group of independent construction companies which carry out diverse operations in the civil infrastructure, heavy industrial, and buildings markets. Together, these companies have an annual construction volume of more than $5 billion, making PCL the largest contracting organization in Canada and one of the largest in the United States. Offices are strategically located in major North American centers to support work across Canada, the continental United States, Alaska, the Hawaiian Islands, and the Caribbean.
