Edmonton, AB (March 22, 2017) – The PCL family of companies is proud to announce it has been recognized with two Canadian Construction Association Awards of Excellence. One for undisputed leadership in our industry and the other for outstanding environmental building practices.

PCL’s Chair, and former President and CEO, Paul Douglas was honored with the 2016 CCA Person of the Year Award. This award honours Robert Stollery and recognizes an individual who excels as a leader and who lives by the highest standards and principles of the construction industry and business community.

PCL also received the 2016 CCA Environmental Achievement Award, given for the Okanagan College Jim Pattison Centre of Excellence. In 2015, the Jim Pattison Centre became the first building of its size in the region to receive LEED Platinum certification, and now the centre has been named the most sustainable postsecondary building in Canada for 2016.

Paul Douglas was present at the CCA conference to accept his award, and PCL president and CEO, Dave Filipchuk, accepted the environmental building practices award. “It is very satisfying to see Paul’s leadership within and outside PCL recognized through this very deserved award. We are also very proud to see our sustainable building skills making a difference along with our valued clients by focusing environmental sustainability, and contributing to healthy communities at the same time.”

Representing more than 20,000 members, the Canadian Construction Association is the national voice of the construction industry in Canada. The CCA’s National Awards Program recognizes the important contributions of individuals, organizations and projects that promote and enhance the Canadian construction industry.
