Los Angeles, CA (November 10, 2015) – PCL Construction is pleased to announce that PCL Construction Services, Inc. in Los Angeles was awarded Engineering News-Record (ENR) California’s Excellence in Safety Best Project Award for the UCLA Center for Health Sciences South Tower Seismic Renovation in Los Angeles. The project consisted of seismic reinforcement and renovation to the 12-story tower, which included upgrading the building’s shell, fire life safety systems, and elevators. The construction of new concrete wall panels will help stiffen the original building to make it earthquake resistant.
The competition included more than 70 entries vying for this year’s safety award. A panel of safety experts choose the winners of ENR’s Excellence in Safety award, part of the Best Projects 2015 competition that will be profiled in more depth in the December issue of ENR California. The winners will be presented with an award at a banquet in December.
