Denver, CO (September 8, 2015) – PCL Construction is excited to announce it ranks third, moving up two spots from last year’s ranking, on Engineering News-Record (ENR)’s Top Green Contractors list.
When asked about this honor, Shaun Yancey, president and COO of PCL’s US Operations, explained, “We continually strive to deliver our best work both for clients and the environment. Being good stewards to both is extremely important to PCL.”
The rankings, published in the August 17 edition of ENR, are compiled using a green building survey that ranks contractors based on contracting revenue from projects registered with or actively seeking certification from third-party rating groups. This year, PCL generated more than $2 billion in green building revenue. The most prominent sustainable-design standard in the US continues to be the US Green Building Council (USGBC)’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED®) program.
Two projects such as the Cielo Apartment Community – a LEED Silver certified luxury residential high-rise condo in Seattle – and Humber River Regional Hospital, North America’s first fully digital hospital located in Toronto, which is on track to achieve LEED Silver certification, contributed to the ranking. “Through integrated project delivery, projects are able to use this collaborative process to incorporate common goals for sustainability from the start while eliminating waste and distributing accountability and success,” said Yancey.
