DENVER, Colorado – The PCL family of companies is pleased to announce that Peter Beaupré, president and chief operating officer of PCL Construction Enterprises, Inc., responsible for leading all of PCL’s US operations, has been named Corporate Citizen of the Year by the Denver Business Journal.
On April 22, the Denver Business Journal hosted the 2nd Annual Partners in Philanthropy summit to recognize leaders in the community. Peter was nominated for the award by Mile High United Way, and was selected Corporate Citizen of the Year based on his philanthropic commitment to the community and integration of charitable commitment into PCL’s company culture.
Christine Benero, president of Mile High United Way, shared a story about Peter Beaupré at the award ceremony: “One afternoon, Peter took me on a tour of a PCL construction site and said, ‘Look, Christine, at what we are building.’ At that moment I realized that Peter, and PCL Construction, are really building hope—hope for the families and children of our community who will stand taller than any building PCL can construct because of the work that Peter and other PCL employees have done.” Christine went on to say, “PCL is a jewel in our community.”
Last year, PCL was given the 2009 Education Partner of the Year award by the Denver Business Journal for our commitment to education, with special emphasis on the Lights On After School program.
