 ANDREW AHRENDT - DIRECTOR OF CORPORATE DEVELOPMENT

Andrew ​Ahrendt, director of Corporate Development, oversees the US Manufacturing portfolio and is also responsible for managing the Virtual Construction, Quality Management, Sustainability, Lean, and Marketing programs. He first joined the PCL family of companies in 1991, and has since held numerous project and operational positions, developing and sustaining relationships with repeat PCL clients such as Land O’ Lakes, 3M, and General Mills. Andrew, a 28-year industry veteran, has a bachelors degree from the University of Minnesota and a construction degree from Hennepin Technical College, and is a LEED® AP. He is currently an advisory board member to the Food Innovation Roundtable and Colorado Association of Commerce & Industry Manufacturer’s Leadership Group. Andrew has spoken on a variety of topics; including manufacturing plant construction, lean design, human and food safety, project development, and preconstruction.

 BILL BENNINGTON - NATIONAL QUALITY MANAGER

Bill Ben​nington joined PCL in 2005 as a field engineer and quickly climbed the construction ladder to become National Quality manager. Having spent time spent in a variety of roles, including project manager and virtual construction manager, he understands the complex challenges project teams face, and works closely with teams to improve efficiency and quality through the use of innovation and technology. In his current role as national quality manager, Bill focuses on enhancing operational excellence and is responsible for leading the implementation of PCL’s Quality Management Program, sharing best practices, and discovering new ways to improve the profitable execution of projects across PCL’s US Operations. Bill holds a bachelor of science degree in construction management from The Ohio State University and has Part 107 Certification. His most recent speaking engagement was at the 2017 Interdrone Conference.

 ERNIE BENSON - CONSTRUCTION RISK MANAGER

Ernie Benson, chief scheduler for major projects, has spent his 30-yea​r career with PCL Construction m​anaging projects and assisting in the scheduling efforts of many notable projects, including Denver International Airport, Orlando International Airport, and Symphony Honolulu, a residential condominium in Hawaii’s capital. Benson has extensive experience in planning major projects that range in value from $100 million to $2 billion. ​​He is certified by the Authority for Total Cost Management and is a planning and scheduling professional.​

Stacey Bledsoe, MHR, SPHR, has more than 17 years of experience in human resources management, 11 of those years in construction operations. Bledsoe is a graduate of Samford University in Birmingham, AL where she earned a bachelor of arts in business management and Rollins College in Winter Park, FL, from which she received a mast​​er of human resources management. She holds a senior professional of HR certification from the HR Certification Institute and a SHRM-SCP from the Society of Human Resources Management. Bledsoe is a former ACE Mentor and a founding member of the Greater Tampa Bay chapter, a PEAK Club award winner, and is ranked in the top 20 percent of management by Cintas.

Terry Brickman, has more than 30 years of experience in the construction industry working on diverse commercial and civil projects across North America. Brickman has an impressive portfolio of large construction projects that include high-rises and condominiums, airport terminals, precast segmental brid​​ges, and panelized c​urtain-wall systems. He earned his bachelor of science in architectural engineering from Ryerson Polytechnic University in Toronto, Canada. Brickman has been a featured speaker at several conferences, including the annual Construction Risk conference, the annual Midwest Healthcare Engineering conference, the annual Lean Construction Institute conference, and the  annual Associate General Contractors Association conference.

Brett Dolan is responsible for providing strategic human resource direction across the United States in the areas of recruiting and retention, employee relations, diversity, compliance, employee benefits and compensation, and human resource information systems. Dolan is a graduate of Miami University, where he earned a degree in finance, and a graduate of the 2012 Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce Leadership Denver course. He has also been recognized by his peers and the Denver community as one of the Top 25 Most Influential Young Professionals in Colorado by CoBiz Magazine(2012), is a member of the 2013 Denver Business Journal’s “Top Forty Under Forty” class (2013), and was named to Engineering News Record’s “Top Twenty Under 40” in 2013 for the Mountain States Region.

 JANA HINTON - Government Contracts Compliance Officer

Jana Hinton, PCL’s government contracts compliance officer has more than 12 years of experience in her field previously working for companies in the aerospace and defense, and design and construction fields before joining PCL. Her main responsibilities include managing compliance and ethics requirements for all US offices. Jana is a ​member of the Society of Corporate Compliance and Ethics as well as the National Contract Management Association. She is a certified compliance and ethics professional with more than 250 hours of continued education in contracting compliance. Hinton graduated from Columbia College in Columbia, Missouri with a degree in business administration and a minor in criminal justice.

Scott Izon, a 30-year Health, Safety, and Environment professional, has spent more than a decade at PCL. His resume includes work across Canada, the Middle East, and in the United States. Scott has extensive project experience that includes high-rise construction, mall expansions, parking garages, military installments, casinos, health-care facilities, convention centers, highways and overpasses, airports and runways, and dam builds. Scott is OSHA certified and holds a diploma in occupational health as well as an associate’s degree in environmental health and safety from the British Columbia Institute of Technology.

 KELLI KELLY - Director, Diversity and Inclusion

Kelli Kelly brings more than 15 years of professional experience to the director of diversity and inclusion position at PCL Construction. She has extensive knowledge of all facets of diversity program management, from ​​community outreach to capacity buildings. In her current role, Kelly leads developing and implementing strategies to ensure the engagement, success, and growth of a diverse employee group as well as PCL’s small and diverse business partners. Key responsibilities include employee and community engagement, issue management, and leadership on diversity initiatives. Recognized among Denver Business Journal’s “Top Forty Under 40” and Engineering News Record’s “Top Twenty Under 40” in 2014.

Nick Kurth, manager of Virtual Construction, is responsible for leading PCL’s virtual design and construction (VDC) activities as well as research and development efforts and initiatives for the organization’s US operations. He began his career in construction more than a decade ago and has worked on projects ranging in value from $40 million to $1 billion. While a jack-of-all-trades in the VDC world, Nick focuses primarily on increasing PCL’s implementation of integrated technologies on projects, and the ways in which these technologies benefit the preconstruction, estimating, planning, management, and field execution phases of a project. His passion for adopting emerging technologies that improve the construction process makes him a valuable member of PCL’s management team. Nick holds a bachelor of science and bachelor of arts degrees in architecture, both from Washington State University, and is certified in Building Information Modeling Certification by the Association of General Contractors. His most recent speaking engagements were at Engineering News Record’s Future Tech conference and the 2017 American Council for Construction Education conference.

​​​Ritch MacPherson, director of Strategic P3 Pursuits, has nearly four decades of experience in the construction industry, has worked in thr​​ee countries, and he’s held a variety of positions for PCL Construction. Beginning his career as a project manager in the Winnipeg, Canada office, Ritch then moved to Toronto where he was a​ contracts manager. In 1994 he was relocated to Mexico City, then relocated again to M​inneapolis, Seattle, an​d ending in Denver. Ritch has worked on a myriad of projects that include a Red Cross Blo​od Center, office towers, and mega-malls. MacPherson earned a bachelor of science in civil engineering and a masters in engineering from the University of Manitoba.​​

Stephanie McCay brings more than a decade of experience in the construction industry to her role and currently leads the US communications team. Overseeing all communication aspects across the United States, she has extensive experience developing and executing strategies and leading the organization’s strategic communication efforts. As well as managing the corporate communications team, McCay provide​​s guidance, support, and training to marketing and communication departments across the United States, and is the main media contact for the organization. She spoke at the 2013 Great Place to Work conference and has been quoted extensively in local, regional, and national publications. McCay earned a bachelor of arts in speech communications from Colorado State University, is a graduate of the Colorado State University construction management certificate program, and earned a masters of communication from Denver University.

Eric Orquiola, corporate director​ for Preconstruction and Estimating, works with PCL’s national Business Development teams providing leadership on major project pursuits. He’s responsible for directing and guiding best practices for PCL’s preconstruction and estimating efforts across the United States and brings more than 20 years of experi​ence to this position. Orquiola is an expert at developing accurate pricing as well as identifying opportunities to enhance client programs, all while working within budget constraints. He holds a bachelors degree in civil engineering from the Florida Institute of Technology.

​Kara Sand, manager of Pr​ofessional Development, has more than a decade of experience as a corporate trainer. ​Her duties with PCL include facilitating continued education and learning opportunities for PCL employees, and she’s responsible for the Professional Development department’s programs, practices, and strategies. Sand is a certified professional in learning and performance, is certified in 360 facilitation, and was chosen to sp​eak at the Associated General Contractors national conference. She has bachelor of arts and m​​aster of science degrees in speech communication from Minnesota State University.
