It’s a top-down strategy to reclad this 25-floor office tower in downtown Vancouver.
Work is being performed from an engineered, four-sided access platform. The multi-point suspended platform is supported from outrigger beams and 20 roof-top towers with 20 motor hoists, which raise and lower the platform as one piece.
The team are removing and replacing the windows and spandrels with new energy-efficient, insulated glazing units that have low-iron glazing and white frit. The exterior renovation also includes replacement of caps and pressure plates, adding new powder-coated white frames with 11-inch-deep vertical mullions as “beauty caps.” The dark exterior will transform to a sleek modern look with improved performance and energy efficiency.
Work is taking place around the clock in this fully tenanted building, requiring continuous coordination and preparation work in the interior spaces.
