Airside 1 and 3 Renovations - OIA

Project Overview

This project consisted of the renovation of all wings, connectors, and restrooms in both Airside 1 & 3 of the Orlando International Airport. These two airsides house more than half the airport’s passenger gates, and both air sides were originally built in the late 1970s and early 80s. This project provided a facelift for existing finishes, repaired and new roofing, upgraded electrical systems, fire alarm systems, fire protection systems, mechanical systems, and a small structural addition. The restroom renovations entailed the complete demolition and rebuilding of 14 pairs of restrooms.

This work had to be phased as to not disrupt the day-to-day operations of the airlines. With these constraints, the work had to be completed at the same time in three phases for both air sides.
