Alliance for Technology, Learning & Society Center

Project Overview

Located on the main campus of the University of Colorado at Boulder, the 66,000-square-foot Alliance for Technology, Learning, and Society (ATLAS) Center is the most technologically advanced building on campus. With professional-quality production and performance studios, a 75-seat screening theater, and a 150-seat “smart” auditorium, the ATLAS Center is the first facility on campus to achieve LEED Gold certification.

The project has been described as a jewel box built on a postage stamp, as the site was extremely restricted and busy. Despite the congestion of the main pedestrian corridor running adjacent to the project site, PCL was able to maintain firm control of the construction site and minimize disruption to the campus, ensuring uninterrupted class schedules and academic functions. The client was pleased enough with the end result to call it "one of the most successful projects completed at the University in recent years."
