Ph. 2 – Anchorage International Airport Concourse A & B Renovations

Project Overview

Phase 2 of renovations at the Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport consisted of a 300,000-square-foot remodel and retrofit to Concourses A and B, as well as finishing up what remained of the main terminal from Phase 1. The scope of work included abatement of hazardous materials, demolition of portions of the existing structure, seismic upgrades, interior and exterior architectural finishes, roofing, mechanical and electrical system upgrades and the installation of a state-of-the-art baggage handling system. The upgrades were designed to bring the terminal and systems up to code, and to revise the architectural aspects to more closely match another concourse.

During construction PCL maintained a high degree of safety onsite, going over two years without an injury. The project exceeded the expectations of both the Alaska Department of Transportation and the public, and was delivered under budget and ahead of schedule.
