This project for the Animal Kingdom’s popular Dinoland attraction included development of The Boneyard. A themed children’s play area, The Boneyard includes a kid’s dig area, a play tower structure, several slides, a paleontologist camp, and surrounding archeology equipment. The surrounding area contains a number of structures that house a thrill ride, restaurants, gift shops, and viewing centers. A number of these were constructed under separate contracts, but simultaneously and directly in and adjacent to the area development work.
Coordination of construction activities, equipment movements, material deliveries, material staging, and highly themed concrete paving required attention to detail and the ability to plan, prioritize, and schedule work sequences. The client and the project benefitted from PCL’s abilities to plan, communicate, and follow through with commitments on this dynamic and challenging project, while achieving the high level of quality and detail that is the client's trademark.
