Anthony Henday Drive and Stony Plain Road (100 Avenue) Interchange

Project Overview

This joint venture between PCL and Kiewit Management Co. was Alberta Transportation’s first design-build project. It included six kilometers of a new six-lane divided roadway between Whitemud Drive and the CNR Edson subdivision in west Edmonton. Seven bridge structures, four directional ramps, and roadway widening made this a significant undertaking for all parties.

During construction, PCL used traffic notices, lane closures, and detours to manage all directions of traffic. Now complete, this portion of Anthony Henday Drive is transformed to a free-flow systems interchange with no traffic signals.
