Located in the heart of downtown Toronto, the Ryerson School of Business is a 210,000-square-foot facility that houses lecture halls, classrooms, and faculty offices. The school of business is situated above a 700,000-square-foot retail space and an underground parking garage, which are connected to the world’s largest underground shopping district (the Toronto Eaton Centre).
This project’s many tenants required management of multiple contracts within one building site. Most complex of all was constructing spaces for university classes and campus life atop a major retail facility in a dense urban location close to one of Canada’s busiest intersections. PCL’s characteristic scheduling and planning expertise ensured that all tenants (each with a distinct contract) were served within a single project schedule.
