When a significant explosion and fire at CNRL Coker Plant 33 destroyed the east derrick structure 300 feet above grade and the cutting deck, all production came to a screeching halt. PCL mobilized quickly and strategically to remove the derrick and damaged components, and the team reconstructed the plant in large pre-assemblies. Safety was a top priority throughout this high-risk project, and PCL’s standard of excellence was maintained by providing all labor for mechanical, support craft, and pipe fabrication.
