Although high-end fashion retail stores are not common in Regina, PCL’s experience with high-quality finishes is. This project consisted of the relocation of the Colin O’Brian Man's Shoppe, which had not only outgrown its existing space, but also wanted a fresh look and new brand. This renovation encompassed both of these tasks to establish a new attractive space in downtown Regina's fashion district.
A reimbursable contract allowed PCL to be involved during the preconstruction phase to establish the schedule and construction budget, large parts of which included architectural millwork finishes and lighting. PCL’s contributions during preconstruction saved the client money, thanks to the team’s design input on offerings from local contractors.
To make way for the new tenant, many base building revisions were required. Based on PCL’s relationship with the building owner, this work was carried out at the same time to help maintain the project schedule. This integration of the two scopes meant PCL could coordinate activities as required to maintain construction flow.
