Currie Reservoir Upgrades

Project Overview

The Currie Reservoir Upgrades project called for the remediation of two underground concrete reservoirs. The remedial work included the removal and replacement of over two kilometers (1.2 mi.) of expansion joint material; the installation of over 279,861 square feet of rubberized roofing; and the repair of over 2,952 linear feet of concrete cracks. The Currie project also included the construction of two new valve chambers using 15,891 cubic feet of concrete, as well as masonry and steel construction.

The client required a complex staged schedule that could accommodate water demand during peak seasons. PCL also adjusted its activities to successfully complete the work in an extremely confined space to repair the interior of two underground potable water reservoirs. Despite the challenges, this project was proudly delivered on time.
