Delta Grand Villa Hotel Tower Renovation

Project Overview

The four-star, Delta Hotel renovation was the third phase of an entertainment expansion by Gateway Entertainment at this location. The development opened first with the casino, followed by the convention centre, and now the hotel.

Originally build in the 60s, 24-storey hotel was completed gutted. Modern interior design was incorporated along with updated plumbing and electrical in all 198 suites. In addition to the standard suites, the hotel includes a VIP lounge and a number of high-end custom suites on the upper floors.

The building envelope was also updated to reflect the casino’s Mediterranean decor.

As the casino was already open when the renovations began, PCL provided phased occupancy releasing several hotel floors at a time, working their way up the tower. As the existing passenger and service elevators had limited capacity and were now being used by hotel operations, the team used an external manhoist for the movement of workers and materials.

PCL added a 100,000-square-foot casino and 20,000-square-foot convention centre to Grand Villa entertainment complex under another contract.
