Greenhills Mine Plant Expansion Phase II

Project Overview

Teck Coal commissioned an expansion of the 25-year-old Greenhills coal preparation plant near Elkford, BC, with the overall project goal of boosting production revenue by approximately $1.5 million per day. The fasttrack schedule was compressed from four months to just six weeks, but that didn’t stop the PCL team from completing the project on time and without a single recordable safety incident.

The 102,000-manhour project peaked at 208 people, and PCL added value by directing all worker disciplines (including ironworker/riggers, millwrights, pipefitters, welders, and electricians). The PCL team also leveraged their experience in remote location work, which facilitated the timely delivery of material and equipment.
