Relocating this client’s entire head office to downtown Regina was no small task. Group Medical Services employs a large number of people and wanted to reuse much of its existing furniture, which necessitated moving the staff in phases on a weekly basis.
This 10,000-square-foot renovation was completed with a cost-plus contract, which allowed the project to progress as documents were under development. This method also allowed PCL to source materials early to meet the accelerated schedule.
The services provided by Group Medical Services necessitated the construction of a dedicated entrance with ideal street appeal and access. To do this, PCL replaced 75 lineal feet of exterior masonry with curtain wall and aluminum cladding.
PCL’s experience with tenant improvements and accelerated phased schedules fit the requirements of this project. Completing this project successfully has made for a continued relationship with the client.
