This project included the construction of two three-lane Florida Bulb T-Girder bridges over the St. John's River, as well as the demolition and removal of the existing bridge, originally built in 1964. Each of the new bridges is 2,600 feet long and has a maximum vertical clearance of 45 feet in the navigation channel. The Florida Bulb T superstructure is founded on concrete piling with cast-in-place footings, columns, and caps.
PCL self-performed all elements of construction, from pile installation through deck placement. By self-performing all major work components, PCL delivered the project to the owner four months ahead of schedule.
