The Kaiser Empire Corporate Plaza T.I project involved the build-out of approximately 40,000 square feet on the second floor of a new building in Rancho Cucamonga, California. It houses close to 300 Kaiser employees and serves as the main call center for the Inland Empire. Being a call center, this project involved a large amount of electrical, telecommunications, and data cabling work.
PCL was called to action to complete the build-out in less than three months. The aggressive schedule on this tenant improvement was almost derailed when the electrical feeders to the building could not accommodate the facility’s power requirements, but PCL was up to the challenge. The team worked with the electrical consultant, electrical subcontractor, power company, and building owner to create a solution that included modifying and expediting some of the electrical switchgears, and accelerating the power company’s crews’ response. The outcome? Power came on, and the call center is assisting Kaiser Permanente subscribers throughout the Inland Empire.
