This project called for tenant improvements to 10,506 square feet of lease space on the fourth floor of the Antelope Valley Hospital Outpatient Imaging Center. The space includes 15 provider offices, 18 exam rooms, one procedure room, one dedicated ultrasound room, and one phlebotomy station. Interior demolition was required to accommodate the construction of an obstetrics and gynecology outpatient facility.
Not only did this project have the challenge of being constructed in an occupied medical office building, but the jobsite also sat atop a sleep study lab on the floor below. All work was performed at night, concurrent with the sleep studies. Coordinating the work so it would not disrupt the sleep study and surrounding occupied offices required a solid construction plan and subcontractor cooperation. PCL was able to turn the building back over an hour earlier than was required each day, and the team did not receive a single complaint from the sleep study lab. The goal was for the tenants to never know PCL was there, and the team did just that.
