Lake Pleasant Water Transmission Main

Project Overview

The City of Phoenix awarded this Construction Manager at Risk project to PCL for the Lake Pleasant Pipeline. It was designed to bring potable water to the city of Phoenix, but impacted roadways in three separate jurisdictions: the City of Phoenix, the City of Peoria, and the Arizona Department of Transportation. To minimize impacts of the project, PCL closely coordinated traffic control with all three entities, and developed detailed plans for managing traffic during the construction process. The project included installation of over 44,000 feet of 78-inch-diameter water transmission main and dual four-inch fiber-optic ducts; 45,000 feet of smaller pipelines; and other appurtenances. The project also included a 2000-foot, 12-foot-diameter tunnel with drop shafts and six major roadway crossings.
