LAX T6 Wolfgang Puck Food Court

Project Overview

The 2,700-square-foot food court inside Terminal 6 at LAX is clearly the main attraction, with high-end finishes and warm lighting to make travelers feel at home. The food court contains three separate spaces operating in conjunction with each other: The Kitchen / The Kitchen Counter, WPizza, and WBar. The Kitchen boasts an industrial cooking area capable of producing large quantities of food quickly and serves food to the customers at WBar. Each space ties in beautifully to the open-ceiling common seating area, where travelers can sit to enjoy made-to-order food and relax before their flight.

Doing construction in a fully functioning airport terminal is, in and of itself, a major challenge. PCL assembled an optimal team of designers and design-build subcontractors to successfully design and construct the project within a very aggressive timeframe. PCL had a solid understanding of how the terminal functions, and was able to lead the design-build team to use that understanding and optimize the design to mitigate impacts on airport operations. The project completed ahead of schedule with zero incidents.
