NAIT HP Centre for Information and Communications Technology

Project Overview

The NAIT HP Centre for Information and Communications Technology is one of the world’s most technologically advanced facilities of its type. This state-of-the-art learning center enhances NAIT's ability to respond to the training needs of business and industry, especially as it relates to the local and international information and communications technology sector. The design of the HP Centre provides high technology in an ergonomically compatible environment, all in polished and professional business-like surroundings.

This Construction Management at Risk project provided for 20 classrooms; 56 labs; 465 square meters (5,005 sq. ft.) of open-area computer commons with 110 PCs; two wireless videoconference facilities; and a 440-square-meter (4,736 sq. ft.) innovation center, all providing a leading-edge environment with applied technology research capabilities. Another important aspect of this technology is the ability to deliver curriculum in alternative locations and formats. The building is designed with many of the elements, including concrete, exposed, which allows a variety of NAIT programs to maximize and adapt the space for their own needs.
