Project Overview

This project called for the construction of a 6,500-square-foot facility to be used as the regional headquarters for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. The scope also included the construction of a 2,500- square-foot service building for the storage and repair of the client’s fleet of vehicles/equipment, and associated site development.

The project was designed and constructed to meet LEED Silver certification standards, but PCL’s contribution to green building initiatives have aided in the building’s surpassing those requirements. The completed project is currently being processed for Gold certification.

The construction site was surrounded by the 316-acre Sweetwater Salt Marsh wetlands. This sensitive location required the PCL project team to implement extensive planning and coordination to minimize impacts to the environment and mitigate disturbances to endangered species.
