Sasol Lake Charles Chemical Project

Project Overview

Known as the Lake Charles Chemicals Project, near Lake Charles, Calcasieu Parish, Louisiana, this is the development of a new chemical-complex unit to convert ethane feedstock to ethylene and a range of ethylene-based derivatives.

PCL constructed the Low Density Polyethylene (LDPE) Unit with an output of 420 ktpa (kilo tonnes per annum). Responsibility included suppling all craft labor, supervision, tools, equipment, installed and consumable materials, services, testing devices, warehousing, temporary facilities and each and every item of expense necessary for field erection, application, handling, hauling, unloading and receiving, installation, construction, assembly, testing, evaluation, and quality assurance of the LDPE Unit.
