Teranet Data Centre

Project Overview

PCL was enlisted to design and construct a data centre for Teranet Inc. in Mississauga. This involved the conversion of a suburban warehouse into a 12,000-square-foot data and office space. The 15-month project was carried out in three phases involving site selection, design development, and construction execution, respectively. To maintain cost and operational efficiency, the project team designed the centre to facilitate future data storage expansion.

The building was designed to meet the Uptime Institute’s Data Centre Site Infrastructure Tier Standard III, which required rigorous uptime and long-term viability to ensure an effective life beyond the current IT standards. The certification was achieved by way of a well-planned and well-executed Integrated Systems Test. This involved the installation of multiple independent distribution paths serving IT equipment, which was dual-powered and compatible with the building’s design.
