The new Exchange tower in downtown Vancouver was two construction projects in one. First was a complex retrofit of a 1929 Heritage building, and second a new 375-foot tower, with 31 floors and seven levels of underground parking.
The retrofit took place in an existing 12-floor building, once the original Old Stock Exchange. It was much more than just a façade update, however. The original building was completely restored and now seamlessly blends in with new construction.
The project, completed in November 2017, is targeting LEED Platinum certification.
