The Grammy Museum @ LA LIVE

Project Overview

Opened to the public on the 50th anniversary of the Grammys, this one-of-a-kind museum spans the history of musical entertainment over four levels and 34,000 square feet. Featuring timeline displays, interactive sound booths, climate-controlled exhibits, and a sound- and vibration-isolated theatre, the Grammy Museum was turned over to the client almost a week ahead of schedule.

Schedule completion was a driving factor for this project because it had to be completed in time for the first Grammy nomination concert, which signaled the launch of the 50th anniversary celebration. To respect both the schedule and the sensitive incoming artifacts, PCL built the museum from the top down. This allowed all arriving artifacts to occupy the dust-free, temperature- and humidity-controlled completed floors, while work continued below.
