The Mansion on Forsyth Park provides 4-Diamond lodging facilities and an eclectic food and beverage experience within a charming historic setting. Originally built in the late 1800s, the 18,000-square-foot mansion now houses a fine dining restaurant, whose private wine tasting room and exclusive culinary school complement the luxury experience of guests in the adjacent hotel. The hotel features 125 suites; 7,000 square feet of ballroom space; and a full-service day spa. A lush central courtyard houses meeting space and a pool, while hotel service operations are contained in the 20,000-square-foot basement. A heavily landscaped 136-stall surface parking lot, surrounded by a historical brick and picket fence, was constructed on an adjoining parcel.
Site demolition, shoring, excavation, renovation, and new construction were all necessary to transform this 1888 historic mansion into the highlight of the Kessler Collection. The PCL team partnered with the client early in the design phases to provide preconstruction services. This allowed PCL to provide design assistance and bring substantial value engineering to the table, which made the project a viable investment for the client. During construction, the PCL team provided ongoing and continuing coordination with client-provided items, which came from all parts of the world. In the final phases of the project, the PCL team worked closely with the client's finishings contractor to furnish the rooms, allowing the client the quickest occupancy possible.
