This project consists of interior renovations to two different themed pods at the Living Seas Pavilion in Disney’s Epcot Center. Inside the pods are four different rooms: an interactive theater, an actor’s room, a projection room, and an educational room. The scope of work included interior demolition, millwork, door and window glazing, drywall partitions and ceilings, acoustical ceilings, carpet, paint, HVAC, fire protection, and plumbing and electrical.
The renovation required innovative thinking, as well dedicated teamwork from all parties. This project came with various challenges, the greatest of which was the client’s requested completion date. PCL used mock-ups of the glass conveyance to ensure a safe and smooth installation, held regular onsite meetings to ensure each task was on schedule, and suggested alternative door and carpet choices when the originals were deemed unattainable in the allotted schedule.
