The Westwood Center project included construction of a five-story, 118,000-square-foot Class A office building, as well as a four-level, 700-car parking garage.
This project was built on a 21.8-acre active campus, so the client’s goal was to add the building and parking garage to the existing complex without disrupting the other building tenants. In addition, it was imperative that PCL achieve the same look as the surrounding buildings. The project team was able to capitalize on past project experience working in and around active sites to ensure that the construction of Westwood Center III was seamless, efficient, dust-free, and safe. Careful attention to scheduling detail and communication were keys to minimizing disruptions.
The team also spent time touring existing campus buildings with subcontractors, utilizing the structures as mock-ups to ingrain the expected quality level within every team member. In the end, the project goals were exceeded: the building features exquisite granite flooring in the lobby and cherry wood paneling, while an exterior pavilion serves as a break area, complete with park benches and beautifully landscaped grounds.
