This project involved the demolition and reconfiguration of the existing atrium and lower two levels at the Yonge and Dundas entrance to the Toronto Eaton Centre in the heart of downtown Toronto to accommodate an H&M store and common area entrance. Also included was the construction over the new mall entry of a 160-foot steel media tower, which now bears jumbo screens. Finishes to the common mall areas included exterior paving and artwork.
The project was completed using multiple phasing in order to maintain public access to occupied retail space as well as to and from the subway on both levels below grade. PCL’s rigorous systems kept the project on schedule while respecting the client’s need keep the building open for business.
