Project Description
The Army Aviation Support Facility at Buckley Air force Base consists of a 112,000 s.f. Aircraft Hangar for maintenance of the COARNG Chinook and Blackhawk Helicopter fleet. The project includes a 13,500 s.f. pre-fabricated storage building, and a 540,000 s.f. concrete parking apron, along with various site utilities, detention pond, and roadways. The building is a steel framed structure, with exterior cladding comprised of metal panels, siding, and curtain wall. There is a Flight Operations Center, which serves multiple purposes including training facilities, offices, locker rooms, etc. This area contains decorative stained concrete floors and high end finishes. The 85,000 s.f. hangar floor is a white hardened concrete surface.
