Project Description

The design-build Accolade Project consists of two buildings; the 6,200 m2 West Building and the 32,000 m2 East Building. Each building includes a basement and 3 floors above grade.

The West Building is primariliy academic space consisting of 300- and 400-seat lecture halls, various 125-, 80- and 40-seat classrooms as well as computer labs and a student art gallery. Inter-connected atrium type space gives the common areas a transparent feel and provides a view through the building to the award-winning Goldfarb Building.

The East Building is primarily fine arts related space featuring a 500-seat Imax-type lecture/presentation hall, a 325-seat proscenium theatre, a 325-seat recital hall, 80-seat screening room and various 200-, 80- and 40-seat classrooms. The second floor contains double height teaching studios for the music, theatre and dance faculties. The studios, along with the performance spaces, incorporate stringent acoustic criteria and special finishes such as dance and acoustic flooring systems. The third floor contains faculty offices for the fine arts program.
