Denver, CO (May 22, 2018) – PCL Construction has moved up one spot and is now ranked seventh on Engineering News-Record (ENR) magazine’s Top 400 Contractors list for 2018.

The Top 400 Contractors list is an annual ranking of 400 publicly and privately held general contractors based on construction contracting-specific revenue. In 2017, PCL recorded $6.44 billion in US revenue.

When asked about how the recent series of tariffs will impact the market, Shaun Yancey, president and COO of PCL’s US Operations, was quoted as saying, “We anticipate the tariffs will have far-reaching impacts on both cost and schedule. More and more pressure will be placed on the design and construction teams to identify innovative ways to reduce and/or mitigate these impacts.”

ENR reports that contracting revenue from US projects in 2017 rose a healthy 4.9% while contracting revenue outside of the US declined 18.4%, with major declines noted in projects in the mining-and-metals and petroleum sectors, and a falloff in the general building sector abroad. In 2017, the Top 400 generated a record $373.98 billion in contracting revenue, an increase of 2.1% from 2016’s $366.41 billion.
