OG&E constructed a new 400 MW simple-cycle power plant utilizing gas turbine generators (GTG) at the existing Mustang Power Plant. The project consists of installing seven (7) Siemens Trent 60 gas turbine generators and all required auxiliary equipment. The project will be constructed adjacent to the existing operating units.
The plant is designed for daily cycling operation and weekend outages. It is also designed for continuous operation for up to three months. The units will be tied to the utility grid during normal operation, but each unit will be capable of operating in island mode while completely disconnected from the grid.
