The Restaurant Concessions project at the James Richardson International Airport involved the general construction of tenant fit-ups in a contemporary, open design. The PCL Special Projects division was commissioned to build nine separate tenant improvements for a wide variety of food service vendors. PCL also built two duty-free outlets, a Manitoba Liquor Control Commission outlet, a convenience store, and client offices.
In addition, PCL was engaged to provide construction services directly to the Airport Site Redevelopment (ASR) team and the Winnipeg Airport Authority for miscellaneous task orders and prime contractor responsibilities that were key to the new terminal’s opening date. The project team was awarded this subsequent contract due, in part, to the strong relationship forged with ASR in the early stages of the Restaurant Concessions construction.
