PCL Construction built this 60,000-square-foot new medical office building in Edina; it will serve up to 16 potential tenants. Planning involved heavy disruption avoidance and scheduling with the other adjacent, fully active medical office building. The team kept construction activities and traffic flowing smoothly on an extremely tight site.
After completing construction of the new building, the firm finished tenant improvements on the 4th floor for a singular client, the Colorado Center for Reproductive Medicine. This tenant build-out of a medical lab and offices for a fertility firm includes exam and consultation rooms as well as andrology and endocrinology labs. Half of the space is an ambulatory surgical center (ASC) with an IVF lab and OR/Procedure room, as well as a recovery area and nurse station. The ASC requires low-VOC (volatile organic compound) material and clean-room construction.
The ramp scope involved demolition of two levels of an existing three-story parking structure and construction of a five-story parking structure in its place around the existing level three that remained.
