Amanda began her PCL career as a temporary administrative assistant for an employee who was out on maternity leave. During her tenure, she proved to be a valuable asset and even though she didn’t know much about construction before, she grew a passion for the industry. To gain further knowledge, she visited job sites as much as possible and started taking night classes to earn her construction management certificate. After she earned her certificate, Amanda was promoted to document control coordinator. Currently, she is currently working as a field engineer and says she feels like she has no limits on her growth potential in the company.

Amanda likes to work collaboratively with a team. When her team comes across an error or omission, she comes to life when the group cooperates to find a solution that’s best for everyone. Constant communication and proactive thinking are her bread and butter.

Outside of work, Amanda is the head coach for a competitive swim team at Courage Kenny Rehabilitation Institute, where she works with athletes with physical disabilities. She believes her swimming background allows her to excel in the construction field because it has shaped her to be headstrong, self-motivated and driven. Construction has a lot of moving parts, but you can’t be prepared for everything. Amanda says having a background in swimming has prepared her to be flexible and ready for anything.
