Edmonton, Alberta (March 14, 2023) – PCL Construction is pleased to announce it has been awarded third place in the Innovation Awards category at the Associated General Contractors (AGC) of America 2023 Annual Convention in Las Vegas, Nevada.

PCL’s Job Site Access [JSA] is a cloud-based access control tracking solution designed specifically for construction sites to track, manage and control workforce access on job sites. JSA makes it simple for project teams to authorize, monitor, review and report on entrance and exit events to your site perimeter and other interior secure zones as defined by the project. Create virtual areas that allow site supervision to track attendance for activites such as quality inspections, job-site clean-up activities and more. At each checkpoint, JSA does more than just recognize the worker: JSA confirms that the worker is valid for the project, that the worker is assigned access to the specific gate, and that the gate is operational based on the hours of availability, ensuring no access during off hours. JSA provides that assurance to know who is on the job site at any time, their trade, company and other relevant details. This data is available in real-time with historical reporting through the Administrator Portal allowing project teams to review and validate site access from previous days and weeks and develop actionable insights based on worker access.

“We are very excited that JSA is receiving this recognition and would like to thank AGC for supporting innovation,” said Mark Bryant, PCL Construction’s CIO. “Built by construction, for construction, PCL and its growing ecosystem of field-based smart construction solutions is driven towards enhancing employee productivity, reducing costly rework, improving build quality and facilitating safe and secure project worksites. PCL is writing the history book of how digital construction is done today. Congratulations to PCL's Business Technology team and all PCL employees who build each and every day."
